Day 7: A photo that makes me happy



This is a picture of Jay & I in front of our house the day we moved in. It was one of the happiest days of my life (so far!) We worked so hard to save up money to buy our first house and after an exhausting search we found our dream house. We were so lucky to find this house in our price range and we've been working hard to turn it into a home that we will spend many years in, and hopefully raise a few babies in it ;)

Day 5: Your favourite quote

I do love Marilyn Monroe quotes (she was a very smart & witty woman!) but I think this one has to be my favourite:

Day 4

I had a really rough day today. Jay and I started talking about finances and how much our wedding is actually going to cost. When I realized how much it is adding up I started to have a bit of a melt down. I don't have a job right now (thanks to my degenerative disc disease and 2 herniated discs in my back) so it's hard paying for a wedding along with our lives (mortgage, bils, food etc) on just one salary. I'm trying now to find a job where I'll be able to sit most of the day but it's hard in this economy. I'm really hopeful that I'll find something that I enjoy soon but it's hard to be optomistic sometimes.

Anyway, on with the 30 day challenge!

Day 4: Your favourite book

Ahh! Another hard one. Seems like I don't have just 1 favourite of anything! Books aren't any different. I love the Harry Potter series and could read them over and over. I also really love the Shopahlic books. So i would say those are my 2 favourite books/series.

Day 3: Favourite TV Show

So I admit, I am a huge tv addict. Like, I don't know what I'd do without my PVR because I'm usually watching one show while I record another to watch later. It's hard for me to pick a favourite tv show so I have to pick a few. Most, if not all, will be Reality shows because I'm a huge reality TV junkie. Crazy, dramatic, messed up people? Yes please! Those are the ones that are right up my alley ;)

Another one that's hard for me to pick just one. I have so many favourite movies! But I would have to say that my most favourite is Love Actually. I am a sucker for romance so clearly this movie was just made for me. Everytime I see the part where Juliet opens the door and Mark is standing there with the signs my heart melts. I am such a sap! I told Jay if I could make him propose again that's how I'd get him to do it LOL

Introduction

Well.. I've decided to start a blog. I'll be upfront, it probably wont be that interesting to start. I used to have an online journal for years and I always enjoyed writing in it but just ran out of things to say. I don't have much more to say now but it's worth a shot for those times when I really do have something to talk about. I'm sure as my wedding gets closer I'll have a lot to say! :)

To start off I've decided to do the 30 day blog challenge. This is a way to ease myself back into updating often and also for you to get to know me better!

Day 1: My favourite song

It's hard for me to pick a favourite song because I have so many, all for different reasons and the memories they hold. My favourite song also changes on a weekly basis as I hear new songs and grow tired of old ones.

So after sitting here thinking about what my favourite song is I settled on Far Away by Nickelback. I'm not normally a fan of their music but this song holds a special place in my heart. About a year into our relationship Jay called my cell phone one day while I was at work. At this time our relationship was long distance. He was living in Calgary, and I was in Ontario. We hadn't seen each other in about 2 weeks. When I answered my phone I didn't hear anything. I said hello once or twice and then heard music playing. I sat down to listen and realized it was the song Far Away. Jay played the whole song for me (and I cried) and then got on the phone to explain that every time he hears this song it makes him think of me, and our relationship. From then on it would be "our song" and it will most likely be our 1st dance at our wedding.
